Licensing Hours Easter 2019

The Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 regulates the sale of alcohol within Northern Ireland and sets out the trading hours for various licensed premises with restricted trading hours still in place over the Easter holidays, even where an additional permitted hours certificate is in force.

The hours for trade for the Easter period 2019 are as follows:-

For licences granted for a pub, hotel, guest house, restaurant, conference centre, higher education institution, place of public entertainment, refreshment room in public transport premises or a seamen’s canteen:

Holy Thursday (18 April 2019) 11.30am – 11.00pm
Good Friday (19 April 2019) 5.00pm – 11.00pm
Easter Saturday (20 April 2019) 11.30am – 11.00pm
Easter Sunday (21 April 2019) 12.30pm – 10.00pm
Easter Monday (22 April 2019) 11.30am – 11.00pm
Easter Tuesday (23 April 2019) 11.30am – 11.00pm

For licences where a certificate of additional permitted hours certificate is in place for a pub, hotel, guest house, restaurant, conference centre, higher education institution, place of public entertainment, refreshment room in public transport premises or a seamen’s canteen:

Holy Thursday (18 April 2019) 11.30am – midnight
Good Friday (19 April 2019) 5.00pm – 11.00pm
Easter Saturday (20 April 2019) 11.30am – midnight
Easter Sunday (21 April 2019) 12.30pm – 10.00pm
Easter Monday (22 April 2019) 11.30am – 1.00am
Easter Tuesday (23 April 2019) 11.30am – 1.00am

For licences granted for an off-licence and shops:

Holy Thursday (18 April 2019) 8.00am – 11.00pm
Good Friday (19 April 2019) 8.00am – 11.00pm
Easter Saturday (20 April 2019) 8.00am – 11.00pm
Easter Sunday (21 April 2019) CLOSED – licensing laws do not permit sale of alcohol from an off-licence or shops on Easter Sunday
Easter Monday (22 April 2019) 8.00am – 11.00pm
Easter Tuesday (23 April 2019) 8.00am – 11.00pm
