Cleaver Fulton Rankin has advised on two winning categories in the Northern Ireland Insider Dealmakers Awards 2021, in Private Equity/Venture Capital Deal of the Year and Deal of the Year (below £2.5m).
In relation to Private Equity/Venture Capital Deal of the Year, Clever Fulton Rankin advised on the investment into Gray’s Clip by HBAN Angels and Co-Fund NI. Gray’s Clip launched ‘ViperClip’, a revolutionary, fully insulated cable clip, following initial investment from Deborah Meadon of Dragon’s Den. Further investment was secured from local and accessible Northern Ireland funders and investors. This deal impressed the judges, due to being launched with the assistance of NI investment and the experience and knowledge of local advisers.
The team were also recognised for Deal of the Year (below £2.5m) in relation to the funding in Harland & Wolff by Whiterock Finance. This funding enabled Harland & Wolff to convert its pipeline into contracts, accelerate its growth plans and to win and fund new contracts. These facts, together with saving 80 jobs at the iconic site, made this the outstanding PE/VC deal according to the judges.
Hilary Griffith, Director & Head of Corporate & Commercial commented, “We are delighted to have been recognised for our involvement in these impressive and leading deals in Northern Ireland. This accolade further highlights the expertise and experience of our teams acting on significant transactions.”
Caroline MacLaughlin, Director & Head of Banking & Finance added, “Recognition by Insider and the judging panel for our role in advising on such prominent deals in Northern Ireland is testament to the quality and ability of our team to deliver on landmark transactions. Cleaver Fulton Rankin is delighted to be supporting and advising clients on their continued investment into Northern Ireland.”
